Allan Holdsworth – Cruise to the Edge Feature #25

British guitar virtuoso, Allan Holdsworth, is considered to be one of the most technically accomplished and most unique players in history.  His playing and techniques have influenced many of the world’s best guitar players.  His career spans more than 4 decades and includes twelve studio albums as well as tons of work with other groups. He is best known for his work in jazz fusion but has also become associated with playing an early form of guitar synthesizer called the SynthAxe.

In addition to his work in other genres, he been involved in Prog related projects such as with the Prog supergroup UK, Bill Buford’s solo group, Derek Sherinian and  Jean-Luc Ponty.  He is currently touring as the Allan Holdsworth Band with Jimmy Haslip on bass and Virgil Donati on drums.
