Bill Hubauer, keyboardist for the Neal Morse Band and We Came From Space, let us in on what song meant the most to him growing up.
“The song that changed my life was Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. While in high-school, I performed it in Regional Band on the Baritone Sax. I was just discovering progressive rock at the time and the 1812 Overture (like a lot of classical music) is very “Prog”. It even has the slow theme reprise at the end like so many progressive epics!
I think I’ve spent my entire musical life chasing after that powerful emotion that I felt being surrounded by an orchestra playing such an epic piece of music. It was a transforming experience.”
