“A lot of songs changed my life. I’ve been shaped my music all along. I guess if I had to pick one, I’d pick Heart of the Sunrise, in reverence to our dear departed Chris Squire. Heart of the Sunrise was a big, big life changer for me.”
Neal goes on to explain the first time he saw Yes in concert. “I saw them open for Black Sabbath when Fragile had just come out and that was my moment. That was my big ‘Woah!’ I didnt know this was possible. I didn’t know you could have classical music side by side like that with pop and rock music and everything else. Then the next year I saw them on the Close to the Edge tour. That was right after Bruford, so I got to see them with Bruford the very first time.”

Yes’ music is the soundtrack to my life for sure. Some of their songs move more than worship music.

Soaring and majestic music by Yes in its best moments is transcendant. Seeing Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe play And You and I in Edinburgh in the late 80s was better than most worship times I have ever experienced. Subjective view, of course, but also points to the reality that God is at work in and through all kinds of music.
Relative to the greate guitar player? Sorry – many people probably asked this already…

Hey Neal, Saw the same show with Black Sabbath in Tucson AZ, when BS came on I swear half the place got up and left. After such a magical wonderful experience, no wonder….YES music will always be in my heart and soul, God bless YES forever!
