One of the legends of Prog and music in general, Chris Squire had died at the age of 67. Recently Chris was diagnosed with Acute Erythroid Leukemia and had been undergoing treatment in his home in Phoenix. His Yes bandmate, Geoff Downes tweeted earlier this morning:
“Utterly devastated beyond words to have to report the sad news of the passing of my dear friend, bandmate and inspiration Chris Squire.”
Chris’s influence as a bass player and as one of the main songwriters in Yes was influential and he was highly regarded as one of the best bass players in the world.
Yes is scheduled to begin its tour with Toto on August 7th with replacement Billy Sherwood.
