Sorry, part of my first comment was chopped off. Galahad’s The Long Goodbye is one of the best Epic songs of the year, and it didn’t even make your list. What a shame. Please take another listen to the entire new Galahad album and try to justify why it made none of your lists. I bet you’ll have a hard time answering why nothing on/about the album made any of your lists. Thanks.

E-Molecule is such an amazing surprise since many years.
The band Ice Age came back after over 20 years with an excellent new album (WAVES OF LOSS AND POWER on the Sensory label) and yet this polling provides no write-in options, in case readers would have liked to submit something beyond the very limited and biased choices.

Not a hard choice. It’s not often that I sit and hum the outro to a prog song. Riverside – Big Tech Brother took the spot and stuck there after the first listen.
Wow, these lists are way to limited with options. F.e.: Where is Earthside (video of the year, album of the year), Theocracy- The Red Sea for epic of the year, Sky Empire for epic, Orphaned Land for live album, Noveria, Eldritch, Anubis Gate, The Ocean etc. And personally my favourite song by Periphery would be Wax Wings, not Wildfires, but that’s always going to happen.
A very interesting new album by Southern Empire, it has been a few years since you came to the UK/Europe.

The varied tempo of the different tracks, plays to the strengths of every player in the band. Cole Millward’s ability to draw these strengths is obvious by his expert editing and mixing of their music.

Having been introduced to Prog Rock for the first time, I couldn’t believe the quality of this bands music. They have taken time to think about the different tracks on the album. I like the track Earwyrm best as it’s catchy base tones and rhythm leaves you wanting to put it on repeat over and over and over again.
Another brilliant piece of art by Roger Dean specially painted for this album cover. It was great to see some of the live painting episodes Roger did of this. Wonderful
Loved the Nospun album Opus! Congrats on the successful release to the newcomers!
This is without a doubt an perfectly written and played album by Katatonia.
They are always progressing and Sky void of stars shows that the band is still relevant after so many years.
Katatonia is quite capable to grab your emotions which takes you on a little journey and shows your miserable spots in your life.
Sadly the band didn’t really get the credit and fame throughout the years they should get but i think that would make them a little less miserable as we know them.
Long story short…….they deserve to archive a little bit more.

Lifesigns live is a wonderful experience. If you’ve not yet seen them you are missing out, not only a fantastically tight knit band, but some great individual performances from it’s members. A really class act!
Love this band and this album is the perfect introduction to their music.

Perfect album
Lifesigns “Live in the Netherlands” has the best prog rock you have heard in years. Great Songs beautifully crafted and guaranteed to touch your soul. Fabulous instrumentation from the Keyboard, Bass Guitar line up and a powerhouse of a drummer .. You owe it to yourself to give it a listen

Absolutely love this album. Complex yet quite beautiful and moving.
Absolute masterpiece huge Flower kings fan have been for a while , just the sounds, melody’s of the instruments /voices used in this album are out of this world. They transport you into a different dimension. AMAZING!!
