Thank You Scientist share new track “Soul Diver”

Thank You Scientist has emerged from the pandemic with some big news to share. Enter Flying Jangus Records—the official record label founded by Thank You Scientist! Additionally, Plague Accommodations, the debut release from Flying Jangus Records and Thank You Scientist’s latest EP, is due out November 19th, 2021.

Now, Thank You Scientist share the first single from Plague Accommodations, “Soul Diver.”

Check it out now here via Bandcamp.

“At the end of 2019, we released Terraformer, our third full-length record,” remarks TYS bandleader and guitarist, Tom Monda. “In classic TYS fashion, after releasing a gigantic 90-minute double album, the whole world shut down. As we re-emerge to join the mighty Intervals for our first post-COVID tour, we wanted to drop something special for our fans.”

Which brings us to Plague Accommodations, a 4-song EP written and recorded during quarantine. Monda aptly adds, “it eerily (and accidentally) clocks in at 20:20.” The EP features Monda, alongside TYS bandmates Salvatore Marrano (vocals), Ben Karas (violin), Cody McCorry (bass), Faye Fadem (drums), Joe Gullace (trumpet) and Sam Greenfield (saxophone).

Plague Accommodations will be the very first release put out on Flying Jangus Records. Regarding the label, Monda remarks, “it’s is a huge step in making our music more readily available internationally, and also an opportunity for us to release other TYS-related projects.”

To mark the very special release, Plague Accommodations will be available as a limited-run etched vinyl EP. As Karas explained in a recent late night TV parody video, the vinyl EP is “one side of music, the other side has an etching on it that will actually ruin your record player.” Art for art’s sake! Fans who pre-order the EP over at can be assured that the band “will be packing them with our own greasy hands in Ben’s living room.”

Additional Plague Accommodations merchandise is now available for pre-order, including the EP on CD, and merch bundles—CD and a t-shirt, vinyl and a t-shirt, or the mega bundle, which includes a CD, a vinyl, and two t-shirts. More information is available over at
