Steve Howe to be this year’s Prog God at the upcoming Prog Awards

This year’s event takes place at The Underglobe, beneath Shakespeare’s famous Globe Theatre on London’s South Bank, on Thursday, Sept. 13th.

Announced earlier today on Prog Magazine’s website, Yes guitarist Steve Howe will be honored with the Prog God Award at this year’s Progressive Music Awards.

Yes are celebrating their 50th Anniversary on tour this year, with Howe of course/ Howe had this say: “It’s an honor to be heralded as somebody of importance,”. “I’m flattered. I keep my awards on top of my guitar rack and this one will be added to them.”

This is the seventh year of the Progressive Music Awards and Howe joins a list of Prog God luminaries that includes Rick Wakeman, Peter Gabriel, Ian Anderson, Tony Banks, Jon Anderson and last year’s winner Carl Palmer.

This year’s event takes place at The Underglobe, beneath Shakespeare’s famous Globe Theatre on London’s South Bank, on Thursday, September 13th. Comedian Al Murray will host this year’s event for the first time.
