Brand X to perform at Genesis Fan Festival 2017

The Genesis Fan Festival will be held in Duluth, MN on June 24th & 25th 2017 and will feature at least eight acts, all playing music related to Genesis or the solo careers of its members. The event’s main headliner for the Saturday night is the famed jazz-rock fusion pioneers Brand X, the band that will play much of its early 1970’s material for the event, musical pieces that were written with and original featured the band’s first drummer Mr Phil Collins.

Also playing will be a selection of accomplished tribute artists, covering all eras of Genesis as well as the solo works of Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and Stave Hackett. And the special guest roster will be headed up by artist Paul Whitehead, who will give an onstage presentation talking about how he created the paintings that graced the covers of early Genesis albums Trespass, Nursery Cryme & Foxtrot. And of course, we will feature very high production values, what would a Genesis related show be without a stunning light show.

The event is being organized by a team led by Event Director Martin Dean, who was involved in organizing similar Genesis related fan events in the UK back in 1999 and 2001 and has spent the intervening years working in the event business, experience that is crucial in making this event something more than a glorified tribute band concert. Martin and his team aim to make The Genesis Fan Festival an annual gathering of the Genesis faithful and looks at this event as the start of something that will grow, evolve and feature many more Genesis related musical artists and guests in the future.

The event is being held in one of the USA’s best kept secrets, Duluth MN, an often-overlooked tourist destination, right on the western end of the awe-inspiring Lake Superior, a working port that treats visitors as friends, exemplifying what we mean by “Minneosta Nice”. Duluth also has access to a first-class venue at the DECC, wonderful restaurants, great locations for social events, numerous craft breweries and many quality hotels within walking distance of the event. Just as importantly Duluth can offer big city amenities at smaller city prices, allowing us to deliver a better product without compromise.

The promotion for the event is being kicked of via a pre-sale hosted by the Indiegogo crowd funding site. Numerous options are available to not only get early tickets, but also constructively contribute to the early funding of the event. Perks of the pre-sale include a special pre-event party on the Friday prior to the main event and a special limited edition T-Shirt designed by Paul Whitehead.
