Peter Gabriel shares new uptempo track “Olive Tree”, 8th track from upcoming album i/o

Peter Gabriel has recently concluded the first leg from his i/o tour  and with that comes another single, the 8th released so far from the yet to be released album i/o.  The track “Olive Tree (Bright-Side Mix)” finds Gabriel revisiting more of an uptempo feel following a few more subdued tracks released from the album.  Listen to “Olive Tree” here: https://lnk.to/PG21

Of the track Gabriel says, “In some ways I do think we are part of everything and we probably have means to connect and communicate with everything that we often shut off. We only want to see and listen to the things that seem important and relevant to us and shut out the noise of everything else when, probably, hidden in that noise there are all sorts of things that can help us realise our place in this future world. I wanted it to have some speed to it but I also wanted some mystery, too. I think it is a celebration in a way and there’s a real sense of being alive.”

The song features a string arrangement from John Metcalfe, with further contributions from Manu Katché on drums, Tony Levin on bass, David Rhodes on guitar, Josh Shpak on trumpet and additional percussion from Ged Lynch. The song was recorded at Real World Studios, Bath, The Beehive and British Grove, London.

Gabriel recently announced thirteen additional cities on his massive North America run of i/o – The Tour. Newly added shows on the Live Nation produced tour include Washington, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Paul, Palm Springs, Denver, Austin, Dallas and Houston.

i/o – The Tour will see Gabriel playing new material from his forthcoming album i/o, as well as delving into his peerless catalogue of music, with hits, fan favourites and the unexpected. For the shows, Gabriel will be joined by regular band-mates Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché.
