Jonas Lindberg and The Other Side shares instrumental single “Gruvan” from forthcoming new album Time Frames

Time Frames will be out on November 7th on CD and all digital platforms.

Swedish progressive rock outfit Jonas Lindberg and The Other Side announced their return with the new album Time Frames, the follow-up the their critically acclaimed 2022 release Miles From Nowhere. The new album will be released on Nov. 7th, 2025.

The new album dives head-first into that unmistakable ”Other Side” sound. The mini-epic ”End Of The Road” paves the way for six other tracks, which together make for quite the progressive voyage, including the first single, ”Faces Of Stone.” and now the instrumental “Gruvan.”

Jonas about the new single:
“Gruvan is Swedish and means ‘The Mine’. This is actually the name of the studio where most of the album was recorded. Originally intended to become more of a bluegrass tune, it derailed as usual and ended up as an ‘Other Side’ track with a 12/8 fusion groove instead.

“On this one my 2 year old daughter crashed the percussion sessions, grabbed a shaker and played along. It sounded so cool that she ended up appearing on the track.”

Jonas Lindberg has this to say about the long(ish) wait – circumstances regarding which are reflected in the album title:
”Time Frames is referring to the album being made through lots of mini deadlines. Sort of like, the guitars were recorded during this time frame and the mixes had to be finished within that time frame. The last album was made during the pandemic when we all had a lot of time on our hands, this time around it had to be done while juggling all these other things too”, says Jonas Lindberg.

The record sees Lindberg once again handling many of the instruments and vocals himself, albeit with notable contributions from returning members Jonas Sundqvist (vocals), Jenny Storm (vocals), Calle Schönning (guitars), Nicklas Thelin (guitars), Jonathan Lundberg (drums), Maria Olsson (percussion) and Joel Lindberg (guitars).

“On this one, I decided from the beginning of the sessions to play most of the instruments on the backing tracks myself. The idea was: If I can play it, I will play it. But I left a lot of stuff that I knew the others would do a lot better than me and gave it to them (haha)”, Lindberg comments.

”That’s the beauty of having other people involved in the music, it just sounds better and more alive. They come up with stuff that I would never have thought of! Since the last album I’ve become a father for the first time. A lot of the inspiration for this album is drawn from that”, says Lindberg.
