The new project from Arjen Lucassen, Supersonic Revolution, has released a new visualizer video for the single “The Rise of the Starman”, taken from the band’s upcoming debut album Golden Age of Music which will be released through Music Theories Recordings/Mascot Records on May 14.
Arjen had this to say: “Lyrically it’s about Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust and musically it’s a more melodic song than the first single. It’s got amazing vocals by Jaycee, blistering guitar and Hammond solos by Timo and Joost and thundering drums by Koen. Very curious to hear what you think of this one, give us some LOOOOVE!”
Golden Age Of Music, the latest album to feature Lucassen’s not inconsiderable talents, may also feature stellar musicianship and killer tunes, but there is no storyline that takes place far into the future in the far flung depths of space. Nor do the album’s 11 tracks come courtesy of an unending list of guest artists. The end result is 11 tracks of high energy, progressively inclined heavy rock that swings with the kind of groove Deep Purple rocked with in the early to mid 1970s.
