Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani talks to The Prog Report about his latest album, Shockwave Supernova, the G4 Experience, his appreciation for new groups like Animals as Leaders and The Aristocrats, working with amazing musicians and why you would never hear Taylor Swift on any of his albums.
The album was recorded late last year at Skywalker Sound in Lucas Valley, CA. The album features his recent touring group of stellar musicians including renowned keyboardist and guitarist Mike Keneally, drumming whiz Marco Minnemann and bass extraordinaire Bryan Beller. “I couldn’t have asked for a better band to help bring these songs to life,” says Satriani. Vinnie Colaiuta and Chris Chaney are also featured on a few songs.
